Native America Calling

October 25, 2016 @ 6:00 am - 7:00 am

You may have noticed everything around you turning pink. That’s because it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lists the disease as the third deadliest form of cancer for Native American women. Are pink campaigns effective in Native America? Has anything changed since a 2009 study showed no improvement in cancer death rates in 20 years?
Native America Calling is a national call-in program that invites guests and listeners to join a dialogue about current events, music, arts, entertainment and culture.

The program is hosted by Tara Gatewood (Isleta Pueblo) and airs live each weekday from 1-2 pm Eastern.

Join the conversation by calling 1-800-996-2848.
