K'ima:w Medical Center's Diabetes Prevention and Management Program offers Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) Classes. Join Dr Dagim Taddesse for 6 weeks of Diabetes Education: Beginning Wednesday, July 28th, 12:00 to 1:30 pm at the K'ima:w Medical Center Diabetes Center. And every Wednesday until September 1, 2021 at 12:00 to 1:30 pm at the K'ima:w Medical Center Diabetes Center. Classes are once a week through September 1st. KTRCD’s Monday Night Market is hosting a Blackberry Festival for the Monday, August 2nd market. Social distancing for all activities will be implemented and masks are required. Samples collected by The Hoopa Tribal EPA indicated that Campbell Creek has tested higher than normal for levels of E. Coli bacteria. Swimming or ingesting of untreated water may have a possible significant health risk. Small children, the elderly and people with compromised immune systems may experience stomach irritation including cramping, diarrhea and vomiting, and in the most severe cases, death.
