This year, all California voters will be sent a vote-by-mail ballot with a prepaid postage return envelope for the November 3rd General Election. All voters can now get critical updates on their ballots through California’s official “Where’s My Ballot?” tracking tool. Signing up takes less than three minutes! A Free Appropriate Public Education-Know Your Rights Workshop for K-12 students with learning disabilities on IEPs or 504 Plans is hosted by NCIDC Indigenous Education Advocacy Project and the US Dept of Education Office of Civil Rights. The Census Bureau is sending a Non-Response Follow Up Team to visit Hoopa Valley households who haven't already filled out surveys. Team Members will be composed of local people, who were hired and trained by the Census Bureau. Census Takers will be visiting households to try to get people to respond to their survey. Emergency food boxes will be available to all community members regardless of income, Wednesday, September 23rd and Thursday, September 24th, from 8:30 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the Hoopa Food Distribution Warehouse, downtown. Kimaw Medical Center will also provide free Flu Shots. OES Safety Officers will be in attendance to provide the Community with Facial Masks and Hand Sanitizer.
