HFD/OES: Burn Hours 6AM-6PM

You are permitted to Dooryard Debris, Burn Barrels and pile burning.  Burn restricted hours are between 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM for the remainder of the 2021 Fire Season. This restriction will remain in effect until such time that current and predicted weather patterns allow it to be lifted. With a combination of low rainfall and early Spring and Summer high temperatures predicted, the decision has been made to RESTRICT all dooryard burning.
Burn Permits are valid for burn barrels and 4ft. by 4ft. piles of green material. If you have piles that are larger, you’ll need to obtain an Ag Burn Permit. Contact the Hoopa Fire Department for a free inspection. For a new burn Permit, call the Hoopa Fire Department at 625-4366 during normal business hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. They will gladly fill out one over the phone and mail it to you.
Please Burn responsibly. Make sure you have clearances around any trash piles and burn barrels. YOU MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE and have a hose and shovel available.
