Deadline: Hazardous Tree Removal
October 18
The Hoopa Tribal Council has implemented a program to remove hazardous trees around homes in the Hoopa Valley. Priority for services will be determined by a Hazardous Tree Assessment. Hoopa Tribal Forestry will examine the conditions of proposed hazardous trees, tree size, proximity to domestic structures, proximity to other sites, land status, applicant age, the ability or lack thereof of the applicant to utilize other resources to treat hazardous trees and other conditions.
Once site evaluations have been made and reviewed, and sites with the highest priority will be treated first. Funding is limited; however, the Hoopa Valley Tribe will continue to seek more funding for this project.
Applications are at the Hoopa Tribal Forestry Department. The deadline is today. If you have trees that you would like assessed for hazard removal, or for more information please contact Hoopa Tribal Forestry at (530) 625-4284.
