Food Safety Course for Farmers

The Klamath Trinity Resource Conservation District is offering a Free Food Safety Course today from 9 AM to 5 PM at the iLtuq Center, Highway 96. Brought to you by the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative. The seven hour workshop will cover: Worker’s health, hygiene and training; Soil amendments; Wildlife, domesticated animals, and land use; Agriculture water (Part l: production water, Part ll : post-harvest water); Post harvest handling and sanitation; Farm Food safety planning.
Completion of this course gains a foundation for Good Agriculture Production (GAP) and co-management information; Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) produce rule safety requirement, tools, and information on developing a farm food safety plan; and a greater understanding of micro-organisms impact on food safety.
