HVHA: Emergency Rental Assistance Program

The Hoopa Valley Housing Authority has received funding for the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Program. These funds can provide assistance to eligible households that are unable to pay rent and utilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Stay-at-home order.
Basic Eligibility Requirements include that the you are part of a household and you are obligated to pay rent on a residential dwelling and you are a Hoopa Tribal Member Renter On or Off-Reservation; That one (1) or more people within the house has Qualified for unemployment benefits, or Experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced other financial hardship due directly or indirectly to the COVID-19 pandemic.
That you attest in writing that one (1) or more individuals within the household can demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability, like a past due utility or rent notice or eviction notice or Unsafe or unhealthy living conditions or Any other evidence of such risk, as determined by HVHA; And that the applicant has a household income that is not more than 80% of the Area Median Income.
