Today, March 28– Missing and Murdered: task forces and investigationsÂ
Tribes and state governments are making new, concerted efforts to combat the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) crisis. The Yurok Tribe recently hired an investigator to pursue new and existing MMIP cases. In Arizona, a MMIP task force was established by the Arizona governor and tribal partners with the intent to reduce and end violence against Native people. We hear from tribal communities about their new efforts in addressing MMIP.
