HVT: State of Emergency Due to Smoke

The Hoopa Valley Tribal Council, in conjunction with Hoopa OES, has declared a state of emergency with regards to the current Smoke Emergency. Unfortunately, there are not enough motel rooms available to evacuate everyone to the Coast but for those who have health conditions which make it of critical need to be moved out, the Tribe is working with NCIDC to make rooms available provided that K’ima:w Medical Center determines that you are a priority to be evacuated. You can also contact Hoopa OES if you do not have a HEPA filter.
There’ll be more to the report in the coming days. For now, the Tribal Council sends their condolences to the families who are grieving loss.
