K’ima:w Medical Center is following CDC guidelines, and widening eligibility as more vaccines become available.
KTJUSD employees who are registered patients at K’ima:w Medical Center and work in Hoopa are Now eligible! KTJUSD employees can get vaccinated on Tuesday, February 9th, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Diabetes Building. Please bring ID. For questions, contact OES at (707) 492 2851 or K’ima:w Medical Center at 625-4261, extension 0324.
Appointments last approximately 30 minutes. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Wear layers to give provider easy access to the area of injection, typically the shoulder area.
The Moderna Vaccine does have side effects, consisting of fatigue, headache, soreness and other symptoms consistent with an immune system response (as if you were getting a cold or flu). This actually demonstrates that the vaccine is working to build your immune system to fight a true exposure to COVID-19. The majority of individuals who have received both the first and the second dose of the Moderna vaccine experienced more symptoms after their second shot. Please plan accordingly.
For more information, call K’ima:w Medical Center at 625-4261.
