PL-280, an interview with Vice Chancellor Carole Goldberg of UCLA

This is an interview with Vice Chancellor Carole Goldberg of UCLA Academic Personnel and Professor of Law.  We discuss the current law enforcement situation in Hoopa Valley as the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department has revoked the law enforcement power of the Hoopa Tribal Police and has suspended the Memorandum of Understanding with the Hoopa Valley Tribe that authorize Tribal Police to be cross deputized with Humboldt County.  Chancellor Goldberg talks about the history of PL-280 and options we may consider, and what other tribes have attempted.
